HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND NEWS AND SO FORTH

BETWEEN THE WORLDS Christmas is nearly here. And if you're Jewish, Hannukah is practically done? Or already done? Or about to start? It's a holiday mystery! But regardless, it's the holiday season. Above is a gift I gave my lady-love yesterday. She deserves much better, but we're still in the "remember back when we were poor" era of our relationship. We will refer back to this time often in later seasons, during clip episodes and funny flashbacks. "Remember that time you quit your job to .... draw cartoons full-time??" *audience dies laughing* At any rate, a couple of things really quick. My DIARY comic is entering its final two months, as I creep slowly past Halloween. I have different ideas about what I'm going to do with it once it's caught all the way up to December 31st, completing a single year. The main idea is just to stop doing it, so I can work on actual serious comics, or at least comics that are better. I also might just change the thing into a different shape, or evolve the thrust of it away from diary stuff and more towards little ruminations on things, whatever. Regardless, it will not be daily, or even close to that. And in order to go ahead and START doing more "real" comics, plus spend more time working on illustration gigs, which actually pay money. Which I actually need pretty bad. 2011 is going to be a lean year! So anyway: starting next week, on December 27, I'll be posting my DIARY strip on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, which will give me more time to sneak in some other non-DIARY posts here and there. In the long run it won't matter, but in the short run I just need, creatively, to work on stuff that's more important to me. Not to slight the whole diary thing, but also, yes, to slight it. Self-examination is fine and all, but self-expression is usually better. And paying bills on time. In the meantime, thanks as always for reading!
